End of Midterms!! (10.14.10)

My German midterm was interesting. We didn’t have a whole lot of time to complete it. We only had 65 minutes, 20 of which was listening exercises. I really only had time to go through everything once. I’m not sure how I did, but it’s over and done with now. After that Trevor & I decided to celebrate the end of Beginner 2 German with nothing other than döner kebabs of course! I have yet to have bad döner. I am not joking when I say döner stands are more common than fast food burger joints in the US. They are everywhere! It is absolutely guaranteed that every U Bahn and S Bahn station will have a döner stand. I can't remember if I've described döner for you or not. If I have, forgive me. It's lamb in  a bread pocket with shredded lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onion, and then your choice of sauce - usually yogurt, garlic, or hot sauce. It is quite delicious and definitely should be on your bucket list!!

Malia, Trevor, & I had tacos for supper. Homemade tacos. Malia's Mom was gracious enough to send her all the fixings for making Mexican food. I think I was more excited than she was. My job was to get the ground beef. That was actually harder than it seemed. Not all stores have ground beef here. And when I did find it, it isn't all beef. It's 65% pork sausage and 35% beef. Every single package is like that. It's so strange!! I know that they love their sausage here, but really! Can't they just sacrifice a few more cows for me to have full fledged ground beef! Nonetheless, our pork/beef tacos were amazing! Nothing like good ole tacos....with beans even and taco sauce! Her Mom really sent everything haha! PERFECT meal before leaving for Italy tomorrow!! :)
