Louvre and Last Day in Paris (9.15.10)

The Louvre

Friends :)

Inside the Louvre

I have no idea what pictures you want to see. So I just picked some to put up. Bright colors attracted me :)

This needs no explaining. I like to think that green laser will beam your head off if you get too close...or something like that ;)

Behind all the glass. Looks so barren huh. Just take a look at the next pic.

The mass of people trying to get to the front to see the Mona Lisa. This shot doesn't even capture the other side of the room waiting all the way to the door.

I got very excited because I recognized this painting from Versailles.

View of one of the wings. That place is seriously huge!!

Representing Purdue :)

Remains of the original, medieval Louvre. Pretty cool!

Napoleon's Apartments

The biggest chandelier I've seen in my life!

I'm not sure I even know enough people to fill this table!

Bedchambers

Traffic jam...was really interesting to watch the traffic patterns from above. I can see why everyone drives Mopeds now.

Insanely intricate tea set

Now starts the Egyptian collection :)

These things amaze me - from so long ago!!

There were rows and rows and rows. PS: I don't know this man. I just didn't have the patience to wait for his 6 photo attempts to end.

I love this :)

This is crazy!! It's the skin of a crocodile preserved - from the same time period!!! Absolute astonishment!

Bastille - or where it used to be.

Our "true" Parisian dinner.

Malia, darling, I'm sorry. I am only putting this up because I think it's hilarious that they gave you a straw with your cocktail!!!

Escargot.

My dinner :)

Anna was so brave!

She didn't make it look so bad.

But then here's Malia's reaction after eating it! Enough said!!
Malia & all her hair. She had to go to the sketch district of Paris to buy 12 packages of hair for her host sister. P.S. Her host sister is African and they somehow braid these into her hair.
